Swift River is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) subsidiary and U.S. SBA 8(a) certified Small Disadvantaged Business. Swift River is a fully-owned subsidiary of The Kuskokwim Corporation (TKC). TKC, an Alaska Native Corporation that has approximately 3,600 shareholders, was formed in 1977, when ten village corporations created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and located along the middle region of the Kuskokwim River, merged.
The villages include Lower Kalskag, Upper Kalskag, Aniak, Chuathbaluk, Napaimute, Crooked Creek, Georgetown, Red Devil, Sleetmute, and Stony River. TKC owns surface rights to more than 950,000 acres in the middle Kuskokwim region.
Various business functions of TKC, including Swift River, are consolidated under a subsidiary holding company, Tumeq, LLC.
